Alphabet BINGO is a learning activity for children learning the alphabet. To play children must listen for the animated character to say a letter and then click on the corresponding letter in the grid. Children can select from upper-case letters or lower-case letters. Thank you to the teachers and parents who suggested I make this activity. This printable set includes six different bingo cards so you can play with small groups or play multiple times with just two or three. You’ll also find a full alphabet sheet included in the download so that you can mark off each letter as you call it. Playing works the same as any other bingo game that you’ve played before.

Timing Tips:

How long a bingo game lasts depends on what pace you read the clues at and how many players you have. If you read faster, such as for older or more experienced students, or if you have more players, the game tends to end more quickly. In general, I suggest allocating between twenty and thirty minutes to a bingo game. Since they can potentially end as early as the fourth word called, though that is quite rare, I encourage you to keep playing in the event of the game being over earlier than you expected it to be. Almost 90% of bingo games with a 25 word list and 25 players will see their first bingo within 7 to 11 words being called.

I have another update ready for you! This post and printable activity was originally published in February 2013. I left the post (mostly) intact with a few new pictures. The entire Alphabet Bingo is completely new, so download it again if you already have it!

Here’s the original post with new pictures:

My children love Bingo of any variety, so my girls were beyond thrilled when I made them this Alphabet Bingo game.

While I really made it for my almost 4-year-old to practice her letters, my almost 6-year-old had a great time playing it with me. She’s still having to sound out most words when reading, so this easy (to her) game made her feel a big sense of accomplishment.

How to Play Alphabet Bingo

You can choose your favorite method of Bingo when playing this game. If you want it to be shorter, the winner only has to win 4 spaces in a row either horizontally, diagonally, or vertically.

If you’d like to stretch it out a bit, you can play so the winner must have each space on the board covered. This was by far my daughter’s favorite way to play. 🙂

When you download this game, you’ll notice that there are three sets of letter tiles – a set of capitals only, a set of lowercase only, and a set of capital and lowercase together. Choose which set your child would like, print and cut apart, and then play!

This printable set includes 6 uppercase Alphabet Bingo playing cards, 6 lowercase Alphabet Bingo playing cards, and 3 sets of letter tiles to use as calling cards or matching pieces on the Bingo card.

I also included a simple guide in the download with various ways to play using the included letter tiles.

While you can print this on plain copy paper, it’s much more durable if you print the cards and letter tiles on card stock. I intentionally created the pages in black and white to save on color ink, so feel free to print on colored card stock to add some spark to this game!
